Ville de Deauville plays a special role in the history of ballet.
It was in 1912 that artists of Sergei Diaghilev’s legendary Ballets Russes came here, turning Deauville into one of the first seaside stages for ballet and establishing a tradition of major ballet events in resort cities. Since then, ballet, elegance and resort culture have remained closely intertwined.
